Learn how to use Gemini for Google Workspace to draft new content quickly, improve your writing, summarize content, create custom graphics, and more.
On your computer, open Gmail.
At the top left, click Compose.
In the bottom left of the window, click Help me write then Help me write.
Enter a prompt. For example:
Write an email introducing a new team member who will be managing [product name]. Include details about their professional experience, accomplishments, and personal interests.
Click Create.
(Optional) Click Refine then choose how you want Gemini to change the content.
When you’re finished, click Insert.

The side panel lets you chat with Gemini while you're working in Google Workspace apps. Here are some of the things you can do:
Summarize long email threads and suggest responses.
Create and refine text that's based on the context of the doc you're working on.
Summarize spreadsheets and create tables and formulas.
Generate new slides, create images, and summarize presentations.
Ask Gemini questions about files in Drive.

On your computer, open a Google Doc file.
In the document, click where you want to write.
On the left, click Help me write
Enter a prompt that contains your instructions. For example:
Imagine you are the lead on a project. Write an update to your executive leadership team on Project X. Include the current status for each business function and next steps. Use a formal, brief tone.
Click Create.
Review the response.

1- On your computer, open a new spreadsheet or tab in Google Sheets. The Help me organize sidebar will automatically open.
Enter a prompt. For example:

On your computer, open a presentation on Google Slides.
Click the slide where you want to add the image.
At the top, click Insert Image Create image with Gemini AI
In the panel on the right, enter a prompt.
Tip: For better results, consider including the subject, setting, distance to subject, materials, or background. For example:

Click Create to see several suggested images.

Edit your prompt: At the top of the panel on the right, click the prompt. Edit your prompt and click Create.

On a computer, open meet.google.com.
Join a meeting.
On the bottom, click More options Apply visual effects Generate a background .
Enter a prompt. For example:
"Luxurious living room interior"
"A magical sunny forest glade"
Tip: For better results, try including reference to a style or mood, a setting, and objects in the environment. For example: "A cozy coffee shop with flowers."
(Optional) Select a style to customize the background image you create.
Click Create samples to see several suggested background images.
(Optional) After you click Create samples, you can:
Edit your prompt: At the top of the panel on the right, click the prompt. Edit your prompt and click Create other samples.
See more suggested background images: Click Create other samples.
Click one of the generated images to use as your background in your meeting.
Click Close to exit "Generate a background" setup.
On your computer, open meet.google.com.
Select a video meeting.
In the green room before you join or during the meeting, navigate to the Effects panel.
In the green room, click Apply visual effects on the bottom right of your self view. During a meeting, hover over your self view and click in the center.
Alternatively click More options Apply visual effects.
Under “Appearance,” turn on "Studio look."
On your computer, open meet.google.com.
Select a video meeting.
In the green room before you join or during the meeting, navigate to the Effects panel .
Click More options Settings .
In the green room, Click on the bottom right of your self view. During a meeting, hover over your self view and click in the center.
Alternatively click More options Apply Visual Effects.
Under “Appearance,” turn on "Studio lighting."
To have Google Meet automatically brighten your self view, select Auto.
To customize your lighting sources, select Custom .
The light intensity can be adjusted using the slider from the panel.
The light color can be changed from the panel by selecting the different colored circles.
The light position can be changed by dragging the Light 1 and Light 2 circles in your self view.
Go to meet.google.com select a meeting.
Before you join, in the top right-hand corner, click More options Settings .
Click Audio .
Turn on Noise cancellation.
Click Join now.
On your computer, go to Google Meet.
In your meeting, click More options Settings Captions .
Turn on Captions .
Select Language of the meeting.
Turn on Translated captions .
Select the language to translate into.
On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
In the text box at the bottom, enter your question or prompt.
Optionally, to add a file to your prompt, click Upload image or Add files .
Click Submit .
