If you have several Google accounts, such as personal Gmail account and a work account, you can easily identify and sign in to your accounts in Chrome browser.
Go to google.com.
If you’re signed in to your browser, at the top right, you’ll see an icon with your initial or profile photo.
If you’re not signed in to an account, you’ll see Sign in.
Hover over or click your profile photo or initial. You’ll see the email account that you’re signed in with:
If the email address ends in @gmail.com, you’re logged in with your personal Google account.
If the email address ends in your domain address (@yourbusiness.com), you’re signed into your Google Workspace account.
If you chose a different icon for each of your Google accounts, the icon can identify which account you’re using.
With profiles, you can keep all your Chrome browser information separate, such as bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings.
Profiles are ideal when you want to:
Share a computer with multiple people.
Keep your different accounts, such as work and personal, separate.
Add a new profile
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click Profile .
Click Add.
If you choose to Sync to your Google Account, your profile name will automatically be your Account name.
Choose a name, photo and color scheme.
If you choose to turn sync on in Chrome with a Google Account for the new profile, your bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings will sync automatically.
Switch to another profile
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click Profile .
Choose the profile you want to switch to.

On your computer, click the Start menu .
Click Settings Apps Default Apps.
Under "Set defaults for applications," enter Chrome into the search box click Google Chrome.
At the top, next to "Make Google Chrome your default browser," click Set default.
To make sure the change applied to the correct file types, review the list below the "Set default" button.
To exit, close the settings window.

Your homepage appears when you click Home .
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, select More Settings.
Under "Appearance," turn on Show Home button.
Under "Show Home button," choose to use the New Tab page or a custom page
Tip: On the left of your address bar, you can find Home .
You can have Chrome open a New Tab page whenever you start Chrome.
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, select More Settings.
On the left, select On startup Open the New Tab page.
Continue where you left off
Tell Chrome to re-open the same pages you were looking at when you quit.
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, select More Settings.
On the left, select On startup Continue where you left off.
Open one or more specific pages
You can have Chrome open a set of pages you specify.
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, select More Settings.
Under "On startup," select Open a specific page or set of pages.
You can either:
Select Add a new page.
Enter the web address.
Select Add.
Select Use current pages.
Tip: To update your pages, on the right, select More Edit or Delete.
When you download a file or image from Chrome browser to your computer or other device, the file is saved in your default download location.
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click More Settings Downloads.
Adjust your download settings:
To change the default download location, click Change and select where to save your files.
If you'd rather choose a specific location for each download, turn on Ask where to save each file before downloading.
Migrate your bookmarks, browsing history, and saved passwords from any other browser to Chrome browser.
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, select More Bookmarks and lists Import bookmarks and settings.
Select Choose file.
Choose a file and select Open Done.
By default, Chrome browser alerts you whenever websites, apps, or extensions try to send you notifications. You can change your settings if you don’t want to get notifications.
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click More Settings.
Click Privacy and security Site Settings Notifications.
Select the option that you want as your default setting.
Block a site:
Next to "Not allowed to send notifications," click Add.
Enter the site's web address.
Click Add.
Allow a site:
Next to "Allowed to send notifications," click Add.
Enter the site's web address.
Click Add.
Allow quieter notification prompts:
Allow sites to ask to send notifications.
Click Use quieter messaging.
This blocks notification prompts from interrupting you. A website can still ask you to allow notifications, but no pop-up prompt will show. Instead, you will only find a bell icon next to the website's address. You can click the bell to allow access.
You can also block any sites or apps from sending you notifications.
If you sync your Chrome settings to your Google Account, you'll see your preferences when you sign in to your account on any device and open Chrome browser.
Sign in and turn on sync
To sign in to Chrome and turn on sync, you must have a Google Account.
Important: Only turn on Chrome sync with devices that you own. If you use a public computer, use guest mode instead.
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click Profile .
Click Turn on sync....
If you're not signed into your Google Account, you'll be prompted to sign in.
Click Yes, I'm in.
Tip: If you want to sync more than one account or share your computer with others, learn how to add a profile in Chrome.
You can save web pages to read later or when you're offline. To read pages later offline, download them in Chrome ahead of time.
To read a page later, add it to your reading list.
On your computer, open Chrome.
Go to a page you want to read later.
At the top right, select More Bookmarks and lists Reading list.
Select Add tab to reading list.
Tip: You can also add a tab to your reading list by right-clicking on the tab Add tab to reading list.
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, select More Bookmarks and lists Reading list.
Select Show reading list.
Tip: You can also reorder, edit, and delete items from your reading list from the side panel.
You must be online to save a page.
On your computer, open Chrome.
Go to a page you want to save.
At the top right, select More Save and share Save page as....
Choose where you want to save the page.
Select Save.
To read a saved page, open the file on your computer. It will open in your default browser, like Chrome or Safari.
To delete a saved page, delete the file from your computer.
When you browse in Dark mode or Dark theme in Chrome, your homepage, toolbar, settings, and some other pages will be dark.
Tip: This feature is called "Dark mode" on Desktop and iOS and "Dark theme" on Android devices.
At the bottom right of a New Tab page, select Customize Chrome .
Under “Appearance,” select either:
Light : Chrome will be in a light theme.
Dark : Chrome will be in a dark theme.
Device : Chrome will follow your device’s theme.

To create a link that opens directly to highlighted text:
On your computer, open Chrome.
Go to a page with text you want to share.
To highlight the text you want to share, click and hold, then drag your mouse.
To open the context menu, right-click on the highlighted text.
Select Copy link to highlight.
If you can’t select this option, this feature may not work for the selected content.
Paste the link anywhere, like an email or message thread.
Tip: To remove the highlight from the text in the linked content, right-click the highlighted text and select Remove highlight.
You can create shortcuts to your favorite websites from Chrome.
On your computer, open Chrome.
Go to the website you want to create a shortcut for.
At the top right, select More Save and share Create shortcut.
From the dialog that appears:
Name: Select the default name for the shortcut or rename it.
Select Create.
